In the brand new series of Mega Movers, we follow the relocation of the largest, heaviest and least mobile historic structures imaginable. In this episode, we reveal how sunken submarines are raised from the watery depths. We observe the crucial planning process, explaining how skilled Mega Movers have to pay detailed and close attention to size, weight, weather and clearance.

We join a team of skilled experts for a lesson in muscle power and mega danger. They dive into the abyss in order to raise sunken submarines, braving deadly radiation and nuclear warheads.

We witness the untold story behind the recovery and move of the doomed Russian submarine Kursk. Next, we put remarkable feats of engineering to the test with the epic struggle to raise the American Civil War submarine, the H.L. Hunley. The Hunley was the first submarine to sink a ship in battle.

In another first, Mega Movers achieve something that has never been done before. The team manage to rescue survivors trapped inside a submarine 243 feet down on the seabed. They then recover the sub itself.  Finally, we outline the remarkable story of the moving of one of history’s most famous subs – the HMS Holland On. Although this vessel never saw battle, it single-handedly changed the course of both world wars.
