William (1982- )

Prince of the UK; first child of Charles, Prince of Wales, and his first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales.

William attended Ludgrove School, Wokingham (1990–95); Eton College, Windsor (1995–2000); the University of Saint Andrews, Fife, Scotland (2001–05); and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (2006). He became a troop commander in the British Army, following his younger brother, Harry, into the Blues and Royals cavalry regiment in 2006.

William is second in line to the throne after his father, Prince Charles. His first public appearance was a visit to Wales on St David's Day, aged eight years old. As William reached his late teens, he increasingly became the object of press attention, especially after the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.
