HarperPress is delighted to present Richard Holmes's new photographic collection Shots from the Front.
As we approach the ninetieth anniversary of the end of the War HarperPress is delighted to present Richard Holmes's new photographic collection Shots from the Front. Covering the whole of the British Soldier's fighting experience across Europe and the Middle East, the book works as a series of extended photo essays on the lives of the soldiers. The best-selling author of Tommy, Holmes this time shows very vividly how life was on the front line.

Alongside Shots From The Front, HarperPress are also delighted to present Tommy's War, a fascinating first hand account of life at home during World War I written by a Glaswegian named Thomas Cairns Livingstone.
In his diaries, Livingstone recorded everyday life, as well as the news of events abroad, plus charming illustrations in pencil and crayon that are to be found throughout.
The diaries were found by Shaun Sewell at auction and presented on the BBC's 'Antiques Roadshow'. They were then picked up for publication.
Shaun took it upon himself to research Thomas's family and found his niece Ella Brown still alive and well at 102 years old. She appears in the video above, alongside Shaun Sewell, who describes exactly how he chanced upon the diaries.
