Within Forward March, there are 8 ranges, offering collections from across the past 200 years, giving something for everyone:

Battle of Trafalgar

On 21st October, 1805, whilst aboard his famous ship HMS Victory, Lord Admiral Nelson received the signal that enemy ships were coming out of port, which was repeated along the chain of ships until it reached the main British Fleet. Nelson then signalled back “General chase South East.” His plan was to steer to the Straits of Gibraltar and prevent the enemy's combined fleet from sailing into the Mediterranean. At 12.15 the first long range shots were fired at the Victory. As fighting continued the ships locked together and French ship the Redoubtable was pounded into submission. Slowly the British ships gained the upper hand as the enemy combined fleet struck their colours or sailed away from the battle. This range showcases the intensity and the drama from the high seas of Trafalgar. Click Here for an interactive map of the battle.

Battle of The Somme

The Battle of the Somme started on 1st July, 1916 and continued until November 1916. For many people this was the battle that symbolised the horrors of warfare in World War One. This one battle had a marked effect on overall casualty figures and seemed to epitomise the futility of trench warfare. Much criticism was levelled at the British commander General Haig based on the appalling casualty figures suffered by the British and French armies. By the end of the battle, the British Army had suffered 420,000 casualties including nearly 60,000 on the first day alone. The French lost 200,000 men and the Germans nearly 500,000. This collection captures the true horror of those unforgettable four months.

Battle of El Alamein

For three years, Axis and Allied forces chased each other over the hostile terrain of the North African desert. The tide turned in the Allies' favour at the Second Battle of El Alamein in 1942. British General Montgomery spent months building up an overwhelming advantage in men and armour, before launching his attacks against Field Marshal Rommel's German and Italian troops.
Winston Churchill was convinced that the battle of El Alamein marked the turning point in the war and ordered the ringing of church bells all over Britain. As he said later: "Before Alamein we never had a victory, after Alamein we never had a defeat."
A must have range for the World War Two enthusiast.

Desert Storm

The critical issue in 1990, which turned a regional dispute in the Gulf to an international crisis, was Saddam Hussein’s move to invade Kuwait. World leaders and the United Nations Security Council were closely observing the activity on the Kuwaiti border and issued Resolution 660 demanding the immediate withdrawal of Iraqi forces – but to no avail. On 16th January,  1991, shortly before midnight, Operation ‘Desert Storm’ began. The offensive, by US-led allied forces, succeeded in liberating Kuwait and by 28th February, 1991, allied military operations were suspended. This collection captures modern warfare in exquisite detail.

Civilians at War

Through the ages civilians have played a crucial part in conflicts and battles. Fighting men have always needed the support from the likes of nurses, surgeons, cooks, armourers and industrial workers. Spanning two centuries, the Civilians at War range offers collectors the opportunity to own highly detailed representations of those who have had such a remarkable impact on military history in a civilian role.

Special Forces

Throughout the history of warfare, there have been small groups of elite fighters who had special and unique talents and thus were considered t. Native scouts with guile and secrecy were critical in gathering intelligence. As warfare and technology developed, so the need for specialist troops emerged. Ghurkhas, Paratroopers, Royal Marines, the SAS and the SBS are all covered in this collection, giving you the opportunity to own the ultimate fighting forces from the 20th Century.

Great Leaders

The greatest leaders in military history not only include military chiefs and soldiers but also civilians called into action in the toughest of situations. Whether they were born leaders or circumstances demanded that they become leaders, they all had crucial decisions to make, often under severe pressure. This collection of legendary leaders brings to life some of the most influential figures in military history over the past 200 years, from the Duke of Wellington to General Schwarzkopf.

Heroes

Since the dawn of recorded history there have been famous heroes, in fact much of history is built around them and their accomplishments. Heroes do not declare themselves as such, but are seen by the populous, or their armies, as someone who has made a distinctive contribution, whether giving great service or committing an act of outstanding bravery. By collecting the figures featured in this superb Heroes range there’s the opportunity to own highly detailed recreations of the most notable heroes of the past two centuries, including Admiral Lord Nelson and Lawrence of Arabia.

Accompanying each model, you will find a detailed scene-setting biography of the figure or diorama. Furthermore, if all the individual and twin figures are collected in any one range, the collector can send off to receive a FREE full size replica campaign medal relevant to that particular range, presented in a beautiful wooden frame.
