Former Battle of Britain airfield Biggin Hill is now home to the world's most famous airshow. Established in 1963 The Biggin Hill International Air Fair combines historic planes, cutting edge aircraft and old favourites including the Red Arrows.
The 2005 festival played host to a reunion of veterans and aircraft from World War Two, and included Spitfires, The Red Arrows and other special displays.
More than 70,000 spectators joined in the celebrations, enjoying the sunshine and fine weather throughout.
The visitors witnessed a 6-hour aerial spectacular bringing together top-flight service and civilian teams with highly skilled aerobatic pilots and a collection of some of the finest classic warbirds in the world.
Organiser Squadron Leader Jock Maitland said that the 2005 flying display was one of the most comprehensive that his company, Air Displays International, had ever presented at an Air Fair.
"The show this year had all the components of a world class aviation event with the Red Arrows team, the introduction of the awesome Typhoon, the excellent teams from the Royal Navy and Army Air Corps, top class aerobatic acts and a collection of the finest warbirds to be seen anywhere" he said.
On the ground, the static park embraced over 100 aircraft and a special parade of cars of the period 1900-1960.
