When it comes to entertainment with a passion, nobody does it like Sky. Across three days, the UK’s first Sky Festival will light up Manchester with over 31 of your favourite channels hosting over 36 events. Sky Festival aims to enthral and entertain people of all ages and interests with a massive range of activities in and around Manchester’s most famous landmarks, bringing something for absolutely everyone to Manchester.

The Hidden House History road show has been touring the UK and is landing in Manchester at The People’s History Museum offering top tips from experts, the chance to win some great prizes and a wealth of resources to discover the true story of your home.

House history expert Dr Nick Barratt is on hand throughout the event to give lectures and hands-on sessions about tracing the history of your home.
Lectures will run on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th from 2-3pm and short document workshops run at midday and 4pm.

Tickets aren’t required for the event – so we’ll see you there! Places are limited for lectures. To reserve a space for the lectures email viewerevent@thehistorychannel.co.uk.

The History Channel will leave a legacy in the community of Manchester and beyond, the Sky Festival legacies are an opportunity to benefit someone’s life or the environment they live in.

The History Channel and English Heritage are offering a 3 night weekend break for two, including travel, at the Custodian’s House, set within the rampart walls of Pendennis Castle - Cornwall’s greatest fortress. The most westerly of Henry VIII’s chain of forts, Pendennis Castle stands proudly on a rugged headland overlooking the entrance to the Fal. An enclosed, sheltered courtyard garden and all mod cons make the cottage a perfect retreat for exploring Cornwall’s spectacular coastline.
